Keys to Paradise series :

This series is for children, it aims to let them longing to paradise which Allah, the Almighty, has made it the home of duration for his righteous servants… and to encourage them to increase in righteous deeds, in which the believer seeks rewards from their Lord. They should also pray to Allah, the Almighty, to purify their intentions in those deeds, hoping that they may be the reason for their entry into Paradise by the grace and favor of Allah.

Allah Most High said: (And they will be called, “This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do.“)( 43 ) Surah al A’raf

Paradise:

Imagine, my little one… If the most skilled architect in the world promised to design the most beautiful palace for you to live in… and he brings the most talented engineers and builders from all over the world to work on it. How do you think it would be built? How gorgeous would it be? Its immensity and wonderful views… The surrounding gardens… Its wide windows… The luxurious furnitures?

Then what is your thought if the Lord of the worlds, Allah (Almighty and Sublime),… who created the heavens and the earth in six days and sent down rain from the sky… who created all the beauty around us… who created all humans, with their different colors and shapes… were to say that he has created another world… more beautiful than the one we see and know??? How beautiful do you think it would be??

I want you to remember the most beautiful places your eyes have seen… The most breathtaking views you have imagined… I want you to look at pictures of the most beautiful places on Earth… Have you seen them?

Allah, the Almighty, the Creator of all this beauty… created something even more beautiful than that… In fact, he created a place… and informed us that no matter how much we try to imagine its beauty, we will never be able to do so because we have never seen anything like it before.

A place that none of us has ever seen or heard of, and we cannot imagine the perfection, luxury, and beauty it contains… It is Paradise… I ask Allah, the Almighty, to make us all among its inhabitants.

the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Allah Most High said: ‘I have prepared for My righteous worshipers what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived.’” And that is testified to in Allah’s [the Mighty and Sublime] Book: “No person knows what is kept hidden for them of delights of the eyes”

the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no god but Allah, He is One and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is his servant and His messenger, that Christ is servant and the son of His slave-girl and he (Christ) His word which He communicated to Mary and is His Spirit, that Paradise is a fact and Hell is a fact,” Allah would make him (he who affirms these truths enter Paradise through any one of its eight doors which he would like.”

This worldly life that we live is very short. After the death of a Muslim, Allah, the Almighty, resurrects him and admits him into Paradise, where he will experience eternal bliss that never ends with death. Life in Paradise is continuous and everlasting, and our lives there will never cease.

‘Ubadah bin As-Samit narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:”In Paradise, there are a hundred levels, what is between every two levels is like what is between the heavens and the earth. Al-Firdaus is ts highest level, and from it the four rivers of Paradise are made to flow forth. So when you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaus.”

In Paradise, we will see those whom we loved without seeing them, such as our beloved Prophet Muhammad  (ﷺ), his wives Khadijah and Aisha, and others. His companions, including Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, along with all his companions, will be there with Allah’s pleasure upon all of them.

Moreover, the most beautiful and greatest of all blessings is that in Paradise, believers will see their Lord, Allah,  whom they have always prayed to. Allah,who has mercy on them, listens to their complaints, accepts their deeds, and treats them kindly. Finally, they will see him in heaven, and this is the most beautiful bliss in heaven!

They will finally see Him in Paradise, and this is the greatest bliss of Paradise! Can you imagine a place more beautiful than Paradise? A place where you never get tired, never get sick, and have everything you could ever wish for? A place where you are among the richest and most beautiful people, where you are pampered and live in luxury, and no work is required from you?

However, what does a Muslim need to do to enter Paradise? Can one enter Paradise just by sleeping and lounging around all day? Is it possible for a person to enter Paradise by simply abandoning himself to his desires, without obeying Allah, and not striving to achieve what Allah has commanded?

On the contrary of course! …. A Muslim’s little effort in this world will be rewarded for him with a lot, Allah willing, in the hereafter,

And we will learn, Allah willing, some of the deeds that the Prophet, may peace be upon him, told us that the one who does them will be rewarded and enter Paradise, Allah willing.. and we will learn about them in the next lessons, Allah willing…

Worksheets :

The worksheets are divided into two levels… In the first level, the child categorizes the words on the sheet into things that exist only in this worldly life, like fear, illness, and hunger, and things that exist in Paradise, like bliss and eternity

The second level is for older children, it encourages them to search for the number of gates, levels, and descriptions of Paradise… and to contemplate about the comfort and happiness they will find there.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Sneezing is a health phenomenon that you’ve definitely seen happen to you and those around you numerous times… So why does sneezing occur?

Sneezing occurs as the body tries to cleanse the nose. When foreign objects such as smoke or dust get stuck in it, the nose becomes irritated, making sneezing the primary defence mechanism against bacteria and insects.

When a foreign object enters the nose, it interacts with the fine hairs and sensitive skin in the nostrils, causing discomfort. This sends messages to the brain telling it that the nose needs to clean itself, and in response the brain sends a signal to sneeze, preparing your body for it.

The eyes are usually closed during a sneeze, the tongue moves towards the roof of the mouth, and the muscles contract, all within a few seconds. During a sneeze, the body gets rid of the mucus and air stuck in the nose. A sneeze may also carry microbes that transmit diseases such as the flu… That is why sneezing is very important for your health and is a blessing. Subhan Allah!

Because Islam is a beautiful, wholesome religion, it covers all aspects of our lives… Even sneezing has to be done in good manners and good practices… So, let’s get acquainted together with the Sunnah of sneezing…

How do we apply this Sunnah?

• If a Muslim sneezes in front of you, it is his right for you to pray for him… This supplication is called: Tashmeet

Abu Huraira t reported Allah’s Messenger ﷺ as saying, “A Muslim has five duties towards another Muslim:

to return a salutation, visit the sick, follow funerals, accept an invitation and say, ‘God have mercy on you’ when one sneezes.”

How do I respond to a sneeze? I say, “Yarhamukum-Ullah” (may Allah have mercy on you.)

  Abu Hurairah reported:

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning. When any one of you sneezes and says `Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah)’, it becomes obligatory upon every Muslim who hears him to respond with `Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah have mercy on you)’. Yawning is from the devil. When one of you feels like yawning, he should restrain it as much as possible, for the devil laughs when one of you yawns.” [Al-Bukhari].

 

• What do I say when I sneeze?

Abu Hurairah t reported:

The Prophet ﷺ said, “When one of you sneezes, he should say: ‘Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah),’ and his brother or his companion should say to him: ‘Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah have mercy on you).’ When he says this, he should reply: ‘Yahdikum-ullah wa yuslihu balakum (may Allah guide you and render sound your state of affairs).”‘ [Al- Bukhari].

• I only respond to those who praise Allah. If the sneezing does not say, “Al-hamdu lillah,” I do not respond, “’Yarhamuk-Allah.” That is until he remembers himself and praises Allah Almighty.

Anas t reported:

When two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, he responded to one with “Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah have mercy on you)” and did not respond to the other. The latter said to him: “You invoked a blessing on this man but did not do so in my case.” The Prophet ﷺ replied, “He praised Allah (i.e., he said ‘Al-hamdu lillah’) but you did not.”

Abu Musa t reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When one of you sneezes and praises Allah (i.e., says Al-hamdu lillah), you should invoke Allah’s Mercy upon him (i.e., say Yarhamuk-Allah); but if he does not praise Allah, you should not respond.” [Muslim].

• When sneezing, I try to lower my voice… and use a tissue or the back of my elbow to cover my mouth so as not to harm those around me…

Abu Hurairah t narrated that when the Prophet ﷺ would sneeze, he would cover his face with his hand or with his garment and muffle the sound with it.

• If someone sneezes more than once, the Sunnah is to respond to him each time, up to three times:

Iyas bin Salamah t narrated from his father: “A man sneezed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was present, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Yarhamukallah (May Allah have mercy upon you).’ Then he sneezed a second and third time. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “This man is suffering from a cold.'”

May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon our Prophet and Master Muhammad, who taught us the matters of our religion and was keen to guide us to what is best for us… Whenever you apply this Sunnah, remember your love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and follow his guidance and actions until you met him in heaven, inshaa’ Allah.

So: make sure to apply this beautiful Sunnah starting today!

This is the beginning of Tafseer Series for Kids starting with Surah Al Fatiha Tafseer.. then moving to Juz Amma

Today’s topic includes the following points :

• A brief simplified interpretation that the mother uses to explain Surat Al-Fatihah to her child
• Cards that help in the process of memorization and building visual memory
• Fun worksheets to motivate the child
• Note: The pictures in the topic are for display only, and you will find all papers and cards in a file for download at the end of the topic

First: Surah Al Fatiha Tafseer, which is easy for the little ones

Be careful, mother, to teach your child Surat Al-Fatihah yourself, because he will recite it later throughout his life in every prayer, and it will be a great reward for you..

Hold the Qur’an and carefully present it to your child… Do you know, my love, what is the best and greatest surah in this Qur’an.. Guess… Let him open, turn and choose a surah..

Open the page of Surat Al-Fatihah and put his finger at the name of the surah… This is Surat Al-Fatihah .. Certainly you hear me when I recite it in prayer.. It is very special.. One day a door was opened from heaven… An angel of angels descended from it… and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, told Peace be upon us , if we read Surat Al-Fatihah, then God responds to everything in it and achieves it for us, so there are beautiful supplications… Do you want to know what they are together?

Let’s start… what do we start with. What is the first verse… In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful: with it we start all our affairs and say them before food.. and before all actions.. so that God helps us to perform them..

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds: If someone does a favor to you, what should you say to him? Thank you.. well done..don’t you see that God has given us many beautiful things? He created these two beautiful eyes for you.. you see a rainbow with them.. he created for you a strong hand that you build with cubes… he created for you food that you love.. what food do you like to eat the most?

How do we say thank you God? We say: Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds

The Most Merciful, the Most Merciful: God understands us and loves us as I understand and love you, even more… and I forgive you when you make mistakes.. God forgives us and has mercy on us with a great deal of mercy.

Owner of the Day of Judgment: The Day of Judgment is the day God promised His servants who worship Him and obey Him that He would admit them to Paradise on it and there all their beautiful wishes would be fulfilled.

Thee we worship and thee we seek help: to worship God means to do what He commands us… and to seek His help means to ask Him for help in all the times of our lives.. Who is the strongest one in our house? Baba ? Don’t you see how much I ask for his help sometimes because he’s stronger than me? Baba asks God for help to give him strength, health, money and everything

Guide us on the straight path…..: You can make a race between you and your child… Draw a line to reach or tie a tape between two chairs… Let it be easy in a straight line and you will walk in circular and coiled lines… You can do this game on paper as you will see later… Ask him why I didn’t get to the end, do you think? Because I did not walk in a straight path… which is the correct and shortest way to reach… When we do things in the right way as God commanded, this means that we are on a straight path and the people who do not do that are the lost, i.e. the lost…

Secondly, the cards for reciting Surat Al-Fatiha:

You may ask: What is the benefit of opening the Qur’an and the cards on which the verses of the surah are written for a child who has not yet read…

The visual memory of a child up to the age of 5 years is at its height… It is like a video recorder… But he is not able to use and employ it yet, he only records…

What we can develop now is his memorization of the form of the verses so that he can distinguish it even without reading… and you will see that he will start reciting from the Qur’an much earlier than his peers, God willing..

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Repeating after the Mo’athin Sunnah is an act of worship and obedience that many people forget. It was mentioned in the hadith of Abu Saeed al-Khudri t, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“When you hear the Mo’athin (pronouncing the call to Salat), repeat after him what he says.” [Agreed upon].

It is nice to draw our children’s attention to this Sunnah, urging them to follow the guidance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and to glorify of Allah’s commands.

It is a beloved Sunnah that could easily be done wherever they are…

How do we apply this Sunnah?

In a normal voice, we repeat exactly what the Moazen says in all verses except two: after “Hayy ‘AlasSalaah” and “Hayy ‘AlalFalaah”, we say “La Hawla Wala Quwwata Ila Billah” meaning “there is neither might nor power except with Allah”. This is because we believe we have no strength and nor power except if Allah ﷻ helps us… We worship Allah and we ask Him to help us worship Him…

If we are in the middle of something, such as playing or watching TV, we should stop for a moment to repeat behind the Moazen.

There are also some beautiful remembrances we could say after the call to prayer… These supplications connect us to our Prophet ﷺ; and they are:

Prayers for the Prophet ﷺ and asking Allah ﷻ to grant him Al Wasilah:

‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, “When you hear the Athan, repeat what the Mo’athin says. Then ask Allah to exalt my mention because everyone who does so will receive in return ten rewards from Allah. Then beseech Allah to grant me Al Wasilah, which is a high rank in Jannah, fitting for only one of Allah’s slaves; and I hope that I will be that man. If anyone asks Al Wasilah for me, it becomes incumbent upon me to intercede for him.” [Muslim]

The best form of the Abrahamic prayer is:

Allāhumma ṣalli `alā Muḥammadinwa `alā ’āli Muḥammadin,

kamā ṣallayta `alā ‘Ibrāhīma wa `alā ’āli ‘Ibrāhīma, ‘innaka ḥamīdum-majīd.

Allāhumma bārik `alā Muḥammadin wa `alā ’āli Muḥammadin,

kamā bārakta `alā ‘Ibrāhīma wa `alā ‘āli ‘Ibrāhīma,

‘innaka ḥamīdum-majīd.

O Allah, bestow Your favour on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favour on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

How do we ask Allah ﷻ to grant the Prophet ﷺ Al Wasilah?

Allāhumma rabba hādhihi ‘d-da’wati ‘t-tāmmah

waṣ-ṣalāti ‘l-qā’imah,

‘āti Muhammadani ‘l-wasīlata walfaḍīlata,

wab ‘ath-hu maqāma ‘m-mahmūdani ‘l-lathī wa`adtahu,

[‘innaka lā tukhliful-mī’ād]

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “He who says upon hearing the Athan: ‘Allahumma Rabba hathihid-da’wati-ttammati, was-salatil-qa’imati, ati Muhammadanil-wasilata wal-fadhilata, wab’athu maqaman mahmuda nillathi wa ‘adtahu [O Allah, Rubb of this perfect call (Da’wah) and of the established prayer (As-Salat), grant Muhammad the Wasilah and superiority, and raise him up to a praiseworthy position which You have promised him]’, it becomes incumbent upon me to intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection.” [Al- Bukhari].

The call to prayer is called twice… the first Athan is to inform people that the time for prayer has begun… and the second is to announce the standing and lining up for prayer. The second is called the Iqamah…

There are a few minutes between these two calls to prayer, some of the best times of the day for supplications are answered, as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us:

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is never rejected.” [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

We only repeat after the Mo’athin during the first call to prayer and not during the Iqamah…

To sum it all up, make sure to apply this Sunnah as follows:

1. When you hear the call to prayer (Athan), stop what you are doing for a few minutes to repeat behind the Mo’athin
2. After Athan stops, take advantage of this time, and pray for our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and ask Allah ﷻ to grant him Al Wasilah
3. Then make any Du’aa you like until the Iqamah is called
4. Be sure to pray as soon as the time for prayer has begun! That is one of the most beloved deeds to Allah ﷻ

Assalamu Alaikum, this is the 3rd part of the 90 good deeds series to welcome the holy month of Ramadan……It’s a wonderful opportunity to prepare our children to practice doing good deeds in this month and in any other time of the year.

The 90 good deeds program for kids part 2

The goals for this program are:
1- To raise the child’s awareness of the importance of the months that precede the month of Ramadan and counting down to its arrival.

2- To help the child understand the Hijri months to eases the memorization of the Islamic months.
3- To be spiritually ready to welcome the holy month of Ramadan by doing good deeds frequently and turning it into a lifetime habit.

4- Reinforce the concept of worship (Ibadah) in the child’s daily life during the month of Shabaan.

This program is suitable for children in the age between 6-12 years old.
It consists of ninety tasks or activities for three months….90 days…. it will be divided into three parts. The 3rd part will start at the beginning of the month of Shabaan.

What is this program consists of:

• Good deeds cards which are different from the cards in part one…..some of it are acts of worship and kindness and some to strengthen the relationship between the child and the people around, such as family members, relatives, friends, neighbors…..etc. All these cards are derived from our beautiful deen al Islam. These are represented it through exciting and interesting illustrations, so children can learn and have fun at the same time inshaAllah. I would like to thank sister Marwa Bayazeed for the lovely illustrations she did for these cards.
• We also included a countdown chart to follow up with the task mentioned in each card.
• Certificate of Completion for the last and third part of this program for boys and girls.

How to apply this program:

1- Start at the beginning of the month of Shabaan and print out all the cards.

2- Create an atmosphere of excitement by reminding the child about the arrival of a very special guest which is the holy month of Ramadan.

3- Involve the child with the preparations physically and spiritually by acknowledging that we do not only get the house ready to welcome the special guest or purchase new Eid clothing, but also prepare ourselves by doing good deeds and acts of kindness too.

4- Assign one daily task for your child to finish and color the specific number for that day in the chart below. For example: the1st day 30….2nd is 29, until you count down to Ramadan.

5- Motivate your child by constantly reminding them that doing these tasks will earn him the pleasure, rewards and love of Allah SWT.

6- Talk to your child about the virtues of the 15th of the night of Shabaan by mentioning these ahadeeth:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah descends in the night of the middle of the month of Sha’ban and he forgives all of his creatures except for an idolater or one harboring hatred.”

The blessed companion Usama ibn Zaid , reports that he asked Prophet Muhammad  : “Messenger of Allah, I have seen you fasting in the month of Shaban so frequently that I have never seen you fasting in any other month.” Prophet Muhammad , replied: “That (Shaban) is a month between Rajab and Ramadan which is neglected by many people. And it is a month in which an account of the deeds (of human beings) are presented before the Lord of the universe, so, I wish that my deeds be presented at a time when I am in a state of fasting.”

When your child finishes at least 27 task out of 30, print out the certificate of completion for this part. Also to encourage children on fulfilling all the tasks, send the child ‘s picture and the full name so we post it in our Facebook page
